SUBJECT:

How to get the AL1715B main board out of factory mode.

AFFECTS:

AL1715B  ET.L170A.228 ver 24, 25

ISSUE:

There are several symptoms indicative of the monitor being in factory mode

1)      When the customer runs the auto config, the auto config window on the monitor will say PASS.

2)      When a video signal is present, a small "F" will appear in the upper left hand corner of the menu (see pic).

3)      When no video signal is present, the monitor will display red, green, blue, white, and black screens and the power button has no effect.

Some of the service spare main boards 55.L17VF.010 were mistakenly shipped in factory mode.

Also, if the customer accidentally presses the following buttons, the monitor will go in factory mode.

Press Auto and Menu buttons at the same time, and then press the power button.

Note: there should be no reason most customers should need to go into factory mode.
